TRAMMELL SCORES 50TH WIN

Jason Trammell of Knoxville had already etched his name into the record books at Tazewell Speedway. Yet even with four track championships and 38 Limited Late Model wins in his familiar Rayburn Race Car, Trammell had only one Super Late Model win at Tazewell Speedway. Saturday night would be Trammell's opportunity to show just how much talent the thirty-three year old driver has. Fifteen Super Late Models were on hand with excellent track preperation. Shon Flanary of Church Hill, TN would earn fast time honors with a lap of 11.342 seconds with Trammell only a tic behind with a lap of 11.375 seconds averaging around 108 MPH on the 1/3 mile oval. In the thirty lap feature Flanary gained the advantage in turn one and was just about to storm out into the lead until Tramell slammed the door and taking the point. Knoxville's Billy Ogle Jr, would battle Flanary for second eventually taking over the spot on lap seven. Ogle would begin putting pressure on Trammell until lap sixteen when Trammell began pulling away at times with a five car advantage. The duo ran into lap traffic on the sixteenth circuit with Ogle ready to strike for the lead, yet it was Trammell's race to lose as he reached the milestone of 50 Late Model wins and his second Super Late Model victory in the JRT Promotions, Trammell Construction Company, FastLane Signs and Graphics, A-1 Storage Trailers, Taylor Plumbing sponsored Warrior Corvette powered by a Vic Hill Racing Engine and shod with American Race Tires.

In Limited Late Model action, Harrogate's Travis Fultz posted quick time and shared the front row of the feature alongside Jason Tramell. Both drivers were behind the wheel of Rayburn Race Cars and used hands-on advice from National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame member C.J Rayburn who stopped by to watch the action while on his way back home to Indiana. The advice worked as the young drivers were clearly had the advantage over the rest of the field early in the feature with Fultz taking the lead. Steve Carr would settle into third followed by Anthiny Burchett and Brad Hall. On lap six Josh Fields brought out the caution with overheating problems with Carr pulling pitside with mechanical woes. On the restart Hall began pressuring Trammell for second as Fultz began pulling away. On lap sixteen Tramell closed the gap on the lead yet it was Travis Fultz picking up his second win of the season in the Harrogate Collision, Fultz Auto Body, DJ's Performance Race Engines powered Rayburn Mopar.

Last year's Modified Street Points Champion Allen Holt scored his first victory of the season in a wild feature that saw the top five nose-to-tail for most of the race. Pole sitter Charlie Rouse wrecked early on his own on lap three and Warren McMahan would give up his fifth position as he spun on the restart. Chris Collinsworth and Greg Estes battled for fourth until contact on lap sixteen on the back stretch sent Collinsworth spinning in turns three and four. He would be relegated to the tail of the field yet worked his way back to a fifth place finish.
