2016 schedule released

Tazewell Speedway has released the 2016 schedule. Once again, the schedule is loaded with events throughout the season.

The season kicks off Saturday, March 19 with the 7th annual Charles Trammell Memorial highlighted by the limited late models for $2,000 to win. Also racing that night will be Sportsman, Open Wheels, and Super Stocks all for $700 to win each, plus classics and four cylinder.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series returns on Saturday, April 9 for a $10,000 to win race presented by Ray Varner Ford. The following day on Sunday, April 10, the Kenny Wallace Dirt Late Model Experience will be at the track all day long. Fans can choose between a ride along experience or a driving experience.

New for this year is a series of races called the Dirty 30. Each race is 30 laps in length and will pay $1,000 to the winner. The first Dirty 30 races is on Saturday, April 30 for the Open Wheels. The second Dirty 30 is on Saturday, May 21 for the Sportsman division. The final one is for the Super Stocks on Saturday, June 11.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series makes it 11th straight visit to Tazewell Speedway on Friday, June 3 for the Toytota of Knoxville 50 for a $10,000 to win race.

The open wheels will be showcased on Saturday, July 2 when the American Modified Series visits for a $3,000 to win race.

Tazewell Speedway once again hosts the final race of Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals on Saturday, July 30. After the success of last year’s finale, this year’s race will also pay $10,000 to win.

The Southeast Modified Series makes its first appearance on Friday, August 10 for a $2,000 to win race.

The 8th annual Buddy Rogers Memorial 44 takes place on Sunday, September 4 for the super late models. The $4,400 to win race is sanctioned by the Southern Nationals Bonus Series.

The final point races will take place on Saturday, September 17. The Championship Night is scheduled for Saturday, September 24 where all champions will be recognized.

On Saturday, October 1, the 6th annual Fall Brawl will take place with three divisions racing for big money. The limited late models will race for $2,000 to win, open wheels and super stocks will each race for $1,500 to win.

There are also a number of other events for the kids throughout the season including candy tosses, foot races for bikes, and a coin toss with 20,000 nickles.
