Rules
Eligible Models
Open to passenger automobiles and pick up trucks (no station wagons,
convertibles or t-tops) with a minimum wheelbase of 108 inches. Any
year allowed. Absolutely no performance modifications are allowed
unless specified below. In general, anything that improves the performance
of the car over and above its factory capabilities is illegal. Anything
to improve safety is generally permitted.
Bodies
Must be absolutely stock except as modified for safety. Can shell
hoods and deck lids for safety, can replace doors with sheet metal,
must be stock appearing. No cutting of any body parts. Fenders may
be cut up to a maximum of 4" around the tire for clearance. Driver
and passenger doors must be gutted for door bars. Roof may be partially
gutted for cage clearance (only area immediately around main roll
bar and halo bar may be gutted). Front fender wells may be removed.
Radiator support may be removed and bars added for protection. Any
repairs to body must be metal and a maximum of 1/16" thick. All
plastic, pot metal, glass, chrome and rubber exterior moldings, decor,
grill, etc. must be completely removed. In general, anything that
may fall off the car and become debris should be removed. The grill
must be replaced with wire mesh. The stock dash metal must remain.
Removal of the back seat and all excess upholstery is required. All
doors must be welded shut. No gutting of hoods or trunk lids. Trunk
and hood must be pinned, hoods must be secured in such a fashion as
to permit easy opening in the event of fire. Interior gutting of the
body to remove excess weight is NOT permitted. . A five inch tall
spoiler is permitted, no sides allowed. No rub rails. Plastic nose
and tail piece permitted. Cars with plastic nose and tail piece may
replace stock bumpers with steel tube front and rear bumpers. Front
bumper may be made of maximum 1 ½ o.d. x .125 thickness or 1 ¾ o.d.
x .095 thickness tubing. Rear may be a maximum of 2 x 3 o.d. x .125
thickness rectangular tubing.
All cars must start the feature with all body parts unless they have
been involved in a accident. Track Discretion.
Roll Cage
ALL CARS MUST HAVE A SIX POINT ROLL CAGE. Roll bar material must be
minimum 1 ½ inch o.d. tubing by .095 thickness. It is recommended
that welded joints have a gusset of minimum 1/8" thick steel.
No conduit, thin-wall tubing or cast-iron pipe fittings will be permitted.
All roll bar installations are subject to approval by the Technical
Inspector. Door bars are mandatory and must extend into the door panels.
A minimum of three door bars with six vertical studs equally spaced
are required on both sides. All bars within reasonable reach of the
driver must be padded. Side wing bars are mandatory on both sides
of the roll cage, and must extend downward at 90E degrees from the
apex of upper forward roll bar bend, to top of the side door bar.
The side wing bars must be the same material as Roll Cage. (minimum
1½ x .095). Uni body cars may tie front clip to rear clip. Complete
floor pan and rocker panels must remain in stock location. Rear clip
may be reinforced with round or box steel tubing (2" x 3"
box tubing recommended). No X frames allowed. One or more bars are
required from left front upright of roll cage to the frame for foot
protection.
Weight
Requirements
Car must weigh 3,200 pounds (with driver) before the race. Any car
that fails the weight requirement before the race will add the weight
and start in the rear. All weight added to the car must be securely
mounted with a minimum of two 3/8 grade 8 bolts. It must be painted
white and the car number must be visible. Any weight dropped on the
racing surface will result in immediate disqualification.
Engine
Restrictions
Engine must be stock for make and model. Maximum cubic inch for any
GM Engine is 360, Ford 360, Chrysler 370. No V-6 engines allowed.
Engines may have a maximum bore of .060 over. Stroke must be stock
for make and model. Four valve relief dish pistons only. Zero deck
(no part of the piston can come out of the hole). Stock cam and hydraulic
lifters only. Maximum duration .288 max lift .488. Engine must idle
like a stock car. No vacuum rule. Compression must be stock for year
and model of car (for example, an 85 Monte Carlo would be 8.8:1).
No changing heads to raise compression (305 heads on 350). Balancing
permitted. Stock engine location must be maintained. Aftermarket valve
covers are allowed. Aftermarket steel or aluminum pulleys are allowed.
Aftermarket fan allowed no electric fans. Aftermarket air cleaners
OK. No funneling or air-flow enhancing devices allowed. Protest for
checking cam is $150. Must pull intake to check cam.
Cylinder
Heads
Must be stock for make and model. O.E.M. stock cast iron GM or World
Products replacement part numbers 4360 or 4267 only. No double hump
or fuelie heads permitted. No vortec or aluminum heads permitted,
even if stock. No angle plug heads allowed. Stock valve sizes only.
Stock rockers only. No roller rockers or steel rockers with roller
tips will be permitted. Stock diameter valve springs for make and
model. Screw in or pinned studs optional. Heads may be surfaced, but
no angle milling. No porting, polishing, gasket matching or grinding
allowed. Three angle valve job permitted.
Exhaust
Stock manifolds or headers allowed. No turn downs. Must run parallel
to the ground, may run side to side.
Carburetor
500 CFM Two Barrel 4412 Holley Carburetor required. Choke may be removed,
but choke horn must remain and part number must be legible. . No grinding
on butterflies or air horns. No alterations to venturi. Adaptor plates
permitted, 1" maximum. Mechanical throttle linkage must have
toe strap. A minimum of two return springs required on carburetor.
Intake
Manifold
Stock cast iron two or four barrel intake manifold. No aluminum or
marine intake manifolds allowed. No grinding, no porting and no gasket
matching.
Fuel
and Fuel Cell
Pump and racing fuel allowed (no additives). No Methanol, alcohol
or nitrous oxide allowed. A fuel cell is required. The pick up must
be located on the top of the fuel cell. Maximum capacity cannot exceed
22 gallons.
Fuel cells must be contained in a completely enclosed 18 gauge steel
container. No aluminum fuel cells are allowed. All fuel cells must
be vented and have a screw type cap. Must have coiled tube to prevent
leaking of fuel in the event of a roll over. Vent check valves are
optional but the loop is mandatory. Cell may not hang lower than the
rear end housing and must have a cell guard minimum 1 1/2" tube
to bottom of cell. Gas cap may not extend through body. When plumbing
any fuel related item, DO NOT USE PLUMBERS TAPE.
Fuel pump must be mechanical, mounted in stock location. No electric
fuel pumps or pressurized tank systems of any type permitted. Fuel
injection or superchargers not permitted. Easily accessible fuel shut-off
valve is recommended on right side of the driver.
Ignition
Stock 12 volt ignition only. One battery may be used, automotive or
marine battery permitted. Battery may be mounted in trunk area. All
batteries must be securely mounted with an angle iron frame on top
and bottom. Batteries mounted in drivers compartment must have a complete
rubber covering. No plastic battery boxes permitted. Electronic ignition
permitted, if stock for make and model. Stock Alternator or generator
optional.
Water
Pumps
Stock cast iron water pumps only. No aftermarket aluminum pumps.
Radiator
Aftermarket aluminum radiator and fan shroud permitted. Must have
catch tank on radiator overflow, minimum two quarts. Any car leaking
water on the track will be black flagged.
Steering
A quick release steering wheel may used. Steering quickeners are permitted.
Starter
Stock or aftermarket replacement only. Must mount in stock location
on block. No reverse or bell housing mount starters allowed.
Transmission
Stock type O.E.M. manual or automatic transmissions only. Must have
forward and reverse. Automatics must have OEM torque converter. Transmission
oil coolers, if used, must be securely mounted outside of drivers
compartment. Stock or aftermarket replacement single disc clutch and
pressure plates only. Stock steel flywheel only, no aluminum flywheels
permitted.
It is recommended that manual transmissions have a SEMA/NASCAR approved
steel bell housing or scatter shield and automatics use a blanket
or approved scatter shield.
Driveline
And Brakes
Stock, 9 inch Ford or Floater rear ends allowed, may be locked. Aftermarket
high strength axles okay, and are recommended. Front and rear disc
brakes allowed. Stock pedals only. No front to rear brake bias adjusters
allowed. Calipers and drums must be stock. GM and Ford okay. Driveline
must be steel only, and painted white. Two driveline hoops required,
front and rear. Material should be ¼ in thick and 2 inches wide.
Suspension
Racing shocks permitted. Shocks must be steel bodied, non adjustable,
and mount in stock location. No bite bolts allowed. Upper and lower
control arms must remain stock. No changes from stock mountings allowed.
May use heavy duty stock style replacement ball joints. Steering must
remain stock, may be heavy duty. Aftermarket springs may be used,
no coil-overs. Springs must be of similar design to original equipment,
and must remain in original position. No adjustable spring cups allowed.
Stock rear suspension only. Leaf spring cars may use stock-type aftermarket
leaf springs. No single leaf or fiberglass leaf springs allowed. Leaf
springs must be mounted in stock locations. Lowering blocks allowed.
Wheels
And Tires
Any U.S. manufactured steel wheel permitted, 8 inch maximum width
bead to bead. No lightweight or aluminum wheels. Center of wheel must
be of heavy duty construction. 5/8 wheel studs mandatory. No wheel
adaptors allowed. Wheel off-set optional. Bead locks permitted on
all four wheels. Regular street tread DOT tires only, maximum 8 inches
wide. American Racer and Hoosier tires are considered
racing tires and are not allowed. No grooving or alterations.
No mud and snow or recap tires permitted.
Radios And Mirrors
No radios or mirrors are permitted.
Protest
Rules
There will be a $100.00 protest fee to pull intake or rear
end, the track will retain a $25.00 tech fee.
Track
reserves the right to delete, change or amend rules in the interest
of competition.
