Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns May 29

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to Tazewell Speedway on Friday, May 29 for the 11th annual Toyota Knoxville 50. The $10,000 to win event is one of the longest running events with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and is always a fan favorite.

Earl Pearson Jr. is the current Lucas Oil points leader heading into Tazewell Speedway. The former series champion leads defending series champion Don O’Neal and Jimmy Owens. Jonathan Davenport and Devin Moran round out the top 5 in LOMDS points.

Former Toyota of Knoxville 50 winner Scott Bloomquist sits sixth in points followed by Brandon Sheppard, Dennis Erb Jr., Eddie Carrier Jr., Steve Francis, Jared Lander, and Chris Brown.

Other regional favorites expected to do battle with the LOMDS regulars are Billy Ogle Jr., Vic Hill, Donald McIntosh, Chad Ogle, Steve Smith, Bryan Hendrix, and more.

Also on the racing program for Friday, May 29 will be the sportsman division for $800 to win, classic cars, super stocks, and four cylinders for $500 to win. Tazewell’s limited late models will not be racing.

Pit gates open at 2:00 and grandstand gates open at 4:00. Hot laps are scheduled to start around 7:45. General admission tickets are $25 for adults, children 9 and under are free. Pit passes are $40, children 12 and under are $30.
