World of Outlaws returns to Tazewell Speedway April 9

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series returns to Tazewell Speedway on Saturday, April 9. The Ray Varner Ford 50 pays $10,000 to the winner.

Josh Richards leads the series standings heading into this weekend’s racing action. Richards led the first 49 laps of last year’s Ray Varner Ford 50 before being passed by Billy Ogle Jr. on the final lap.

Defending series champion Shane Clanton is second in the series standings and is a former winner at Tazewell Speedway. Rick Eckert, Brian Shirley, Brandon Overton, Chub Frank, Morgan Bagley, Steve Casebolt, Billy Moyer Jr., Frank Heckenast Jr., Chase Junghans, Eric Wells, and Boom Briggs are other series regulars expected to be at Tazewell Speedway.

Other regional stars such as Vic Hill, Donald McIntosh, Billy Ogle Jr., Stacy Boles, Jeff Wolfenbarger, and more are expected to be at Tazewell for the WoOLMS event.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series format consists of time trials, heat races, last chance races, and the 50-lap main event for $10,000.

Also on the racing program for April 11 will be the sportsman, open wheel, and super stock division for $800 to win each. All other Tazewell Speedway classes will have the night off.

Pit gates open at 3:00 and grandstand gates open at 4:00. Racing will begin at 7:30. General admission tickets are $25 for adults, kids 9 and under are free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $40 for adults, kids 12 and under are $30 with a signed minor’s release.
