Southern Nationals title decided at Tazewell Speedway

Tazewell Speedway will once again host the last race of the Schaeffer's Southern Nationals presented by Sunoco and Tennessee RV on Saturday, July 28. As has been the case the last several seasons, this year's race is a $10,000 affair and is presented by Ray Varner Ford in Clinton.

A number of drivers are battling it out for this year's title. Dale McDowell, Brandon Overton, Casey Roberts, and Donald McIntosh have a shot at this year's Southern Nationals championship. Other series drivers include former NASCAR truck series driver Joey Coulter, Aaron Ridley, Shanon Buckingham, Forest Trent, Cla Knight, Craig Vosbergen, and Robby Moses.

Other expected drivers include Vic Hill, Steve Smith, Chad Ogle, Dakotah Knuckles, Chicky Barton, Brian Smith, and more.

Also racing on Saturday will be sportsman for $1,200 to win, classic cars for $500 to win, street stocks for $400 to win, and four cylinders for $350 to win.

General admission tickets are $25 for adults with kids 9 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $40. Pit gates open at 3:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 7:15, Racing will start at 7:45.

Tazewell Speedway is located just two miles northwest of Tazewell, Tennessee.
