Fourth-place finish with Iron-Man Series at Tazewell

With Mother Nature altering his original plans for the Fourth of July weekend, Pierce McCarter invaded Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Ga.) on Friday evening for the Stars and Stripes Showdown. Drawing 23 Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series entries, McCarter locked his spot into the opening night feature with the third fastest time in his qualifying group. On Saturday afternoon at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) for the Firecracker 40, Pierce timed in second fastest in his group behind Jensen Ford. Starting the $5,000-to-win A-Main in fourth, McCarter ran in a steady pace throughout the 40-lapper to register a fourth-place finish. He trailed Dakotah Knuckles, Donald McIntosh, and Jensen Ford to the checkers with Ryan King coming in fifth.
