SOUTHERN ALL-STARS VISIT JULY 3 Tazewell, Tennessee – As part of a big week of holiday racing at Tazewell Speedway, the Southern All-Stars will visit on Wednesday, July 3 for the $4,000 to win Summer Sizzler. Racing on July 3 has become a tradition at Tazewell Speedway. And the World's Fastest 1/3-Mile Dirt Track is proud to welcome the Southern All-Stars to this year's racing program for the Summer Sizzler. Riley Hickman currently leads the Southern All-Stars point standings. Hickman leads 2012 SAS Rookie of the Year Mike Weeks by 22 points. There is also a tight battle for this year's Rookie of the Year battle as Mark Rosner of Rockford, Tennessee leads second-generation driver Brett Holmes by 26 points. Regional drivers also expected for the event are Billy Ogle Jr., Vic Hill, Steve Smith, Jeff Wolfenbarger, Jason Trammell, Bryan Hendrix, and others. Also racing on will be the sportsman division, modified streets, pure streets, and four cylinders, and classics. The Tazewell Late Models will NOT be racing. General admission tickets are $18 for adults with kids 9 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $30, kids 12 and under are $20. Pit gates and grandstand gates open at 5:00. Racing will start at 7:45. In addition to the exciting racing program, there will also be a fireworks display during the intermission. Tazewell Speedway is located just two miles northwest of Tazewell, Tennessee. Going north on US 25-E, turn right and then left onto Bacchus Rd, and then 1.8 miles north, then .8 miles west and the race track is located on the left.
