Southern Nationals finale on Saturday, July 30

Tazewell Speedway will once again host the final race for the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals on Saturday, July 30. This year’s race, presented by West Chevrolet, will once again pay $10,000 to the winner.

As has been the case for the 12 seasons of the Southern Nationals, the championship will be decided at Tazewell Speedway. There is a tight battle brewing among Devin Gilpin of Indiana, Shanon Buckingham of Morristown, Ricky Weiss of Canada, Vic Hill, last year’s series finale winner, and Donald McIntosh.

Other series regulars include Stacy Boles, Gavin Landers, Chris Brown, Robby Moses, and Craig Vosenbergen.

Those drivers will take on some of the region’s and area’s top drivers contending for the $10,000 to prize. Potential drivers include Scott Bloomquist, Chad Ogle, Billy Ogle Jr., Steve Smith, Terry Wolfenbarger, and others.

Also racing on Saturday will be sportsman for $1,000 to win, super stocks for $700 to win, and classic cars for $400 to win.

General admission tickets are $25 for adults with kids 9 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $40. Pit gates open at 3:00 and grandstand gates open at 4:00. Racing will start at 7:45.
