Tazewell Speedway will play host to the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals finale for the 18th year in a row on Saturday, July 30. The Ray Varner 53 will pay $10,000 to the winner and one driver will win the series championship.
The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals has another exciting points race that could be determined this Saturday at Tazewell Speedway. Loudon, Tennessee’s Cory Hedgecock is in the mix for the championship along with 2022 Spring Nationals champion Carson Ferguson, Will Roland, Jensen Ford of Johnson City, Tennessee, Kenny Collins, John Henderson, Zack Mitchell, and rookie contenders Dalton Cook, Brenden Smith, and Parker Martin Jr.
Other expected drivers include Dale McDowell, Dakotah Knuckles, Jason Trammell, Bryan Shockley, Matthew Holt, Mack McCarter, Vic Hill, Ryan King, Steve Smith, and more.
Also racing on Saturday will be sportsman for $800 to win, classic cars for $600 to win, street stocks for $600 to win, and four cylinders for $500 to win.
General admission tickets are $25 for adults with kids 9 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $40 for adults, kids 12 and under are $30. Pit gates open at 4:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 7:00, Racing will start at 7:30.
Fans are welcome to bring in lawn chairs for the turn 4 hillside seating areas. Fans are asked not to use lawn chairs in the grandstand area due to the size of the crowd expected for this event.
There will be no personal ATV vehicles allowed in the pit area which includes 4-wheelers, side-by-sides, and golf carts. No personal vehicles allowed in the pits except for those going to handicap parking.
