Buddy Rogers Memorial set for Sunday, September 3

The 9th annual Buddy Rogers Memorial takes place Sunday, September 3 at Tazewell Speedway. This year’s running is sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco and Tennessee RV.

Buddy Rogers was a championship racer that won races at tracks all across the area. Shortly before his passing, Rogers said Tazewell Speedway was one of his favorites. Tazewell Speedway is proud to once again host this race in honor of a great racer.

Some of the expected drivers include Donald McIntosh, Vic Hill, Billy Ogle Jr., Steve Smith, Chad Ogle, Dakotah Knuckles, Brian Smith, Carder Miller, Jeff Neubert, and more.

The Brucebilt Iron Man Modified Series will also be in action for a $1,000 to win race.

Also racing on Saturday will be sportsman ($1,044 to win), super stocks ($744 to win), classics ($440 to win), and four cylinders ($440 to win). The Tazewell Late Models will not be racing.

General admission tickets are $20 for adults with kids 9 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes are $35. Pit gates open at 3:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00. The drivers meeting is set for 7:00. Hot laps will start at 7:30.

Tazewell Speedway is located just two miles northwest of Tazewell, Tennessee. Going north on US 25-E, turn right and then left onto Bacchus Rd, and then 1.8 miles north, then .8 miles west and the race track is located on the left.
